This week’s questions were interesting.  Let’s proceed:

Are you pro-marriage?  Why or why not?

LG~ I think it’s a reasonable choice for those who want such an arrangement.

T~ I am not pro-marriage in the legalistic or Christian view of such.  I don’t believe true marriage is an institution, it is a matter of the heart.

Have you ever invented or thought you invented a sexual position?

LG~ well, ya, sort of, but I highly doubt we were the first ones to figure it out.  I can say it is not in the 1001 sexual positions chart I bought on the streets of NYC for $1.

T~  That would be an “upside down banana split.”  Ah, those were the days…

Do you like to be tied up?  Always or sometimes?

LG~ The times I’ve tried it, enjoyed it, but can’t say it would be a routine option.

T~ Only when the mood stikes.

Do you consider online cybering adultery?

LG~ depends on the predetermined statutes of your romantic relationship(s).

T~ If the question is referring to online sexual conversation or erotic photo swapping, then yes, I would consider it adultery unless cleared by all parties.

Do you prefer masturbation over real sex?

LG~ Depends on what you mean by “real sex?”  I prefer skin to skin intimate contact over self stimulation, but I prefer my own practiced hand or toy over meaningless or unenjoyable encounters.

T~ NO.  yik.  Talk about missing out.

Do you want sex more times a day than your partner?

LG~ No.  I’m lucky enough to always have willing partners any time I’m interested.

T~ Oh, hell yes, that is a definite without a doubt, without question, YES.

Do you get offended when you partner openly flirts with others or are you okay with it?

LG~ Generally, I’m ok with it, but sometimes I think it’s inappropriate or poorly managed.

            T~ Light flirtation is acceptable.

Do you think you’re flirty by nature?

            LG~ Ya.  ‘Think so.

            T~ I have my moments.

What do you think is the un-sexiest part of the body?

LG~ depends on the person, but generally I’d say feet; toes – most specifically toe nails… ugh, shudder

            T~ the heel?

Toilet Paper:  over, under, or what the hell are you talking about?

LG~ Over.  Definitely.  There is no other way…

            T~ Over.

Have you ever called in sick to stay in bed with a sexual partner?

LG~ never had a job and a lover at the same time.  Oh wait, for a short time…  but I can say I’ve seduced someone into calling in sick and staying in bed.  Does that count?

            T~ no, I haven’t worked that much.

Did your parents have a “birds & bees” talk with you?  If so, at what age?

LG~ Mom did…  she used big words like “intercourse” and “sexual pleasure” – I think I was maybe 8 or so.  But she was always uncomfortable talking about it, even now, and I’m 40.

T~ Yes, 9.  My mother made sure I was very informed.

What is the one thing someone could do to rock your world?

LG~ oh, ha ha, snicker, blush…  I would never make it that easy for anyone to know that morsel of info!

T~ Kiss me all over…  and over again…  (she sings to herself)

Bonus:  What does sex mean to you?

LG~ If you mean the term “sex” as in differentiated from making love or f*cking, then it is an act, devoid of deeper meaning.  However, if this question refers to the entire sexual persona, the blending of our whole selves as sexual creatures (the implication of the original link) then I would say the ability to bond ourselves to closely with another human is the ultimate in personal expression and when treated correctly, the most magical gift you can give another person.

T~ “Sex” means the act of copulation with no emotional involvement.

I got up this morning eagerly anticipating TMI Tuesday, only to be slightly disappointed at the questions.  There was one that looked like fun, so I thought today we’d do something different; sort of make a game out of it.  I’m going to post the question of the day, and I want our readers to reply with their answer as well.  Feel free to leave the reply anonymously if you’d like.

Describe your sex life in two words!

We’ll go first…

            LG~ Feast & Famine

            T~ Fast & Furious

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone~

The Movie Edition

We don’t always follow our weekly memes religiously, but this week’s TMI questions grabbed me because, well, I’m a movie maniac.  Actually we all are.  We don’t watch a lot of regular broadcast television, but we do enjoy the movie structure – a self encapsulated theme with a certain beginning and ending.  And while television is normally aimed at education or entertainment, movies almost always carry a message, and with that, you can dialogue theory for hours; another delightful benefit of the theatrical experience.  So here it is…

What was the last movie you saw in the theatre?

LG~ The City of Ember (actually, very good for a “kid” movie)

            T~ The City of Ember

What is your favorite movie theatre snack?

LG~ Popcorn, without a doubt, with extra butter.  Temptress and I cannot share popcorn if I fashion it for my tastes.  I can on occasion forgo my preferences so we can bump hands in the popcorn bucket.  That’s kind of fun too.

T~ Popcorn, that’s a duh…

Have you ever snuck in “outside” food into the theatre?

LG~ Sure, I’m a woman, I have a purse, and it frequently has gum or other snack type items inside, whether sneaking was intended or not.  There have been times a water bottle or other purposeful snack was intentional there.

T~ Candy bars all the time.

Have you ever made out in a theater?

LG~ LOL, ya.  The infamous first kiss happened in a theatre, and there have been a few times since.  Really, in my adult life, it’s a value issue… why pay all that money to enjoy a movie just to miss it?  We’re not kids anymore, I can make out in the dark at home for free.

T~ (pondering…) Not really, not what would qualify as “making out.”

What is the “farthest” you’ve gone in a theatre?

LG~ Kissing, hand holding, a little light over the clothing petting…  a lot less than I’ve done in a restaurant.  Really, it’s the value thing again.  I don’t want to miss the movie!

T~ Kissing and holding hands, although I think there was once some over the clothing crotch grabbing.

Bonus:  What is one of your favorite movie sex scenes?

Now here is a question we kept discussing for a long time.  Being that we dabble in reviewing adult toys and films there isn’t much we haven’t seen on film.  We both agreed that the adult film industry isn’t even comparable to true cinematic love scenes, so we decided to give you a top ten type answer that comes from both of us…

Favorite Use of Anticipation (and fondest teenage impression) – Kelly McGillis and Tom Cruise in Top Gun (1986).  No words needed.  Just blue light.

Favorite Comedic Sex Scene – Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins in Bull Durham (1988):  Honey, would you rather I were making love to him using your name, or making love to you using his name?”

Favorite Hot Moment (and most dramatic raw passion) – Diane Lane and Olivier Martinez in Unfaithful (2002).  Ya, the hallway.  Take me now.

Favorite “OMG I’d love to do that!” Moment – Linda Fiorentino and Peter Berg in The Last Seduction (1994).  Stilettos in a chain link fence.  Totally worth the watch.

Favorite Cinematic Threesome – Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, and Matt Dillon in Wild Things (1998).  Ya, we know they faded to black too soon, but was there anything they could have filmed we didn’t already visualize?

Favorite Sex Scenes Most Likely to be Real Sex – Carrie Otis and Mickey Roarke in Wild Orchid (1989).  Not as controversial, but also gets nods for heat is Kim Basinger and Mickey Roarke in 9 ½ Weeks (1986).  Silk scarves and ice cubes have never been the same.

Favorite Sexy Bad Guy – John Malkovich in Dangerous Liaisons (1988).  Not so much a looker, but great use of deceptive power.  Was there anyone he didn’t screw?

Best “WTF Were You Thinking?” Sex – Glenn Close and Michael Douglas in Fatal Attraction (1987).  Everything including the Kitchen Sink.

Best Use of Furniture – Pianos.  Favorite performances are by Michelle Pfeiffer and Jeff Bridges in The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989); Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman (1990).  Which leads us to…

Best On-Screen Chemistry – Richard Gere with practically anyone…  Our favorite Gere performances: American Gigolo (1980), An Officer and a Gentleman (1902), First Knight (1995), Shall We Dance (2004), Nights in Rodanthe (2008), and Sommersby (1993) “I know because I never loved him the way that I love you.” (SWOON)

The “would you rather…” edition

Would you rather be stranded on an island alone or with someone you dislike/don’t get along with?

LG~ That one is really tough for emotional me…  I think with someone I don’t prefer.  But that would be a long and complicated stroll down the neurotransmitters.

T~ With someone, because I think you could come to an understanding.

Would you rather accidently walk in on your parents having sex or have them walk in on you?

LG~ UGH, neither!  And considering I have no mental recollection of my parents ever being together (divorced since I was 4) I cannot even picture such.

T~ I’ve walked in on my mother before and it didn’t scar me too badly.  So I guess my parents, ‘cuz I’m pretty sure they don’t do that anymore.

Would you rather be snapped by paparazzi during a nipple slip or while exiting a car without any underwear?

LG~ I think the nipple would be least embarrassing.  I love being naked, but in front of those of my choosing, not the biased mass.

            T~ A nipple slip.

Would you rather not have sex for two years or not be able to use the internet for two years?

LG~ I lived without the internet for more than 2 decades, I think I could handle it for a few years, but boy would I miss the convenience of it…  The answer might be different if the choice was sex or chocolate.

T~ Oh Jesus!  That’s a tough one…  not be able to use the internet.  (wicked chuckle…)

Would you rather find true love or 1 million dollars?

LG~ ugh, don’t make me answer this from my current perspective!

T~ True love, of course.  That is a no brainer.

Bonus:  If you had to choose *one* sexual position for the rest of your life, what would it be?  Why?

LG~ Doggie style, with or without variations, hands down my ultimate fav…  WHY?  Depth, carnage, passion, surprise attack…

T~ Hands and knees, baby, hands and knees…  nothing like having your ass in the air!

When did you last use your cellular phone as a flashlight?

LG~ Two days ago.  But I do that all the time, is there something wrong with that?

T~ A couple of days ago!

On a scale from 1-10, how comfy are you being naked?

LG~ If I’m alone or in a closed sexual context, a 10.  Otherwise, I don’t mind showing skin, but nothing too private lest I scar the children for life.  But I have no intentions of doing the nude beach thing either, so public nudity is probably more like a 2.

T~ 7 if it’s dark; 10 if I’m completely alone.

What is the longest you’ve ever been celibate after having lost your virginity?

LG~ I lost my virginity to Big, so I’d say not at all, but I’m sure there have been periods of time when he’d say otherwise.

T~ 18 months, 2 years at the most, but I don’t think it was that long.

Have you ever had sex in a car?  If yes, since you were a teenager?

LG~ YES!!  And I never did it as a teen, all my hot car sex was later in life; I knew the risk and it totally escalated the experience.

T~ Yes {evil chuckle} and it never happened as a teen.  One of hubby’s favorite places was in the car.  There were a lot of little back roads where we used to live.

When did you last use food or drink as medication?

LG~ If you mean in the “OMG, I need a drink!” or “Would somebody just pass the chocolate for Pete’s sake!!” then that would be yesterday, maybe the day before.  What did we learn in Harry Potter?  Chocolate is good for chasing away the Dementors.

T~ {Damn, I HATE it when she steals my answers!}

Bonus:  Name three words that:

  1.
    1. Get you excited

LG~ “Is it naptime?”

T~ “Hello,” it doesn’t take much.

  1.
    1. Make you squirm

LG~ “Be very still.”

T~ “There’s a snake!”

  1.
    1. Make you laugh

LG~ “Hey, therya go!” (A line from Steve Martin’s My Blue Heaven, you’d have to see it to appreciate.)

T~ “Pig wart ‘mell” (It’s a LONG story, just chalk it up to kids perspective and mispronunciation)

“We kiss and tell!”

1. Ever been skinny dipping?

LG~ yes, but only in the last few years.  It was liberating.

T~ Yes

2. How often do you kiss or make out without it simply being a foreplay activity?

LG~ With Temptress, as often as possible!  But with the guys, it ALWAYS leads somewhere; it’s a foregone conclusion.

T~ Almost daily, or whenever she’ll let me.

3.  On a scale of 1-10, how content are you with your life?  (1=lowest; 10=highest) Do you think “content” and “happy” are the same thing?

LG~ I’d say an 8.5 most of the time.  I can spike to a 13, but it rarely ever drops below a 6 and that is withstanding severe stressors.  And no, I don’t think content and happy are the same thing, and I’ll make this brief because I could seriously write an entire blog on this point… But I think contentment is a settled feeling, a resolve that you are moving in the right direction, have made good choices, and are pursuing daily happiness.  Whereas happiness is more of a shifting mood, a feeling in the moment; an ephemeral state when all circumstances seem to shift into a place in the happenstance.  Just don’t get me started on the difference between connotation and denotation..

T~ Its not a fair scale; it varies from day to day.  Like life, contentment is variable.  If I stayed within the scale of 1-10, there are many days I’m a ten, and other days I’m a three.  I don’t believe contentment and happiness are the same thing, but they are partners.  Without one, it is difficult to have the other.

4.  What do you do to relieve stress?

LG~ I head for the bathtub!  Long, hot, baths with essential oils and salts.  I can’t do bubbles because we have jets, so I slink in with a book or some relaxing jazz and loose myself in the hum.

T~ Take Goddess to bed!

5.  What was the special trait in your first lover that made you decide they were “the one?”

LG~ Well, the man has lots of good traits, but I didn’t decide he was “the one” as for nearly two decades he was “the only one.”

T~ He had all of the qualities I was looking for in a man at that time; compassion, honesty, he was stable, kind.  He was the kind of person I thought I could spend the rest of my life with.

Bonus.  How old were you when you first had sex.  (Positive responses here…)

LG~ First experience I was 19 – and it was a very positive experience.

T~ I was 17.
